About me – englisch

Tinkering, fixing, creating — I’ve always loved making things.

Growing up in a German-Polish-Lebanese household, all it took was a pencil and a stack of paper to keep me happily occupied for hours.

With punk rock in my headphones and a skateboard under my feet, I spent my youth in Hanover. MTV was showing Jackass, and we were already out filming ourselves with our very first cameras.

I was also involved in volunteer work early on: at the Mühlenberg community, we regularly organized youth camps — good times.

During my media design studies (starting in the winter semester of 2010/11), I began working for clients: first at the film production company DayforNight, later at the agency Kochstrasse Agentur für Marken.

Since 2016, I’ve mainly been freelancing in the film industry, especially in the camera department and post-production. Commercials, series, feature films — for a while, I was on the road more than at home.

In 2017, Daniel M. G. Weiß, Christian Hofmann, and I founded the film production company greatartig.

In 2021, we completed our first own project, DIE VERMIETERIN funded by nordmedia.

More recently, Robert Preschel and I have been developing small inventions that make life on set a little easier. You can find our practical tools at movie-gadgets.de

My beard is starting to turn grey, the rock music is still there, but these days I spend more time at the changing table or in the bouldering gym than at the skatepark. Most of my tinkering now happens on a computer. The youth work has stayed, though: those early camps eventually grew into a full scout group , where I’m still proud to contribute.
